You may have a screen name that someone already has chosen. Try adding numbers after the name to make it unique from other names. Also, did you respond to the Verification e-mail which was sent to you after you registered? You MUST enter the Verification number or the Verification URL you receive in order to be listed.

HOW IS THE EMAIL I SEND TO OTHER MEMBERS ANONYMOUS?

We respect your privacy and will keep your actual email address confidential. You'll never see it or your real name displayed at DeafMatchInternational.com. Any written correspondence from other members will be directed to your Username@deafmatchinternational.com. The messages will be automatically forwarded to your registered email address.

HOW DO I REPLY TO THE EMAILS I RECEIVE?

To reply to email from other members, you MUST first be a DELUXE MEMBER. Then, go into their profile and send the message. DO NOT hit "reply" or else your message will NOT be delivered. Make sure to TURN OFF your auto-signatures and auto-responders and DO NOT copy (cc:) or forward email to yourself when you send a message from your own email program. When you reply to a Username@deafmatchinternational.com email address, your real email address will be removed from the "From" line, so the recipient will see only: YourUserName@deafmatchinternational.com. Messages will be forwarded automatically to our members' real email addresses. No one can see the other's email address unless they intentionally divulge this information.

HOW DO I BLOCK/REMOVE USERS?

If a member does not wish to keep receiving another member's emails and/or is being harassed by another member, simply send us an email to: security@deafmatchinternational.com. DeafMatchInternational.Com will not tolerate such acts and violators of our Terms and Conditions concerning harassment will result in prompt termination of their account.

HOW DO I ADD, CHANGE OR DELETE MY PROFILE AND/OR PHOTO ?

Go to Edit Account. From this page you can choose EDIT or DELETE profile, UPLOAD or DELETE photos, and make other adjustments to your account.
If you would like to change your Username*, you must first DELETE your account by going to the "Edit Account" page, and then create a NEW profile with your new Username. If you would like to change your e-mail address, you may send an e-mail to: webmaster@deafmatchinternational.com and we will change it for you. If you would like to edit other information in your profile, go to the "Edit Account" page and click on "Edit Profile". If you would like to remove your account, go to "Edit Account" then click on "Delete Account."
*NOTE: You CANNOT change your Username if you are a DELUXE MEMBER.

I AM NOT SURE WHAT TO SAY ON MY PROFILE…

Start with an eye-catching sentence on your "Personal Biography" section located on the bottom of your profile. Be honest and write about your lifestyle, hobbies, interests and likes.

Mention everything about your ideal match including personality, attitude, looks and style.

A picture is worth a thousand words, so it is an excellent idea and highly recommended to upload your photo. NOTE: It is a fact that profiles with photos get more responses than the ones without.

WHAT DO I SAY TO SOMEONE I WANT TO CONTACT?

The following is an example:

"Hello, I am 25 years old and liked your profile very much. We share many hobbies and I would like to communicate with you. I am intelligent and love to have fun. If you are interested, please let me know and I will send you more information about me and attach a photo of me. I would also like to see a picture of you."

HOW DO I UPLOAD A PHOTO?

After you create a profile, you can upload or post photos of yourself for FREE, directly from your computer. Choose a photo not to exceed 30Kb in size and which must be in .jpg or .gif format. You must follow the following guidelines for posting your photo:

• The photo must be of you only...no children or pets. Make it a recently taken photo. The best photo is front profile with a smiling face and good lighting. Black and white photos work well also.
• Cartoon characters and celebrities are copyrighted and cannot be posted.
• Nude, obscene, sexual and/or offensive photos will be promptly removed and your account will be terminated.
• The photo's filename MUST be a string of characters with NO spaces in between (i.e. "mypic.jpg" NOT "my pic.jpg").
  Note: If you have a problem uploading your photo, send or e-mail it to us, and we will upload it for you at no charge.

You will be listed immediately once you respond to the Verification e-mail we send to your registered e-mail account. You MUST enter the Verification number or the Verification URL you receive in order to be listed.

HOW MUCH INFORMATION IS GIVEN TO OTHER MEMBERS?

Only the information that is public, or what you list on your profile. We DO NOT release your e-mail address, street address, zip code, phone number or your real first and last name. Others do have the ability to see what city and country you are from.
